Mr Simon Israel Mr Israel assumed the appointment of Chairman Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in January 2005. Mr Israel worked extensively in the Asia Pacific region since the early 1980s with Sara Lee Corporation, holding various positions including Country Manager/Zone Manager for Indonesia, the Philippines, Taiwan and Japan, and rose to the position of Head (Household & Personal Care) Asia Pacific from 1993 to 1996. He joined Group Danone in 1996 and held the post of Chairman Asia Pacific and a member of the Group’s Executive Committee till June 2006. Mr Israel has taken up his new appointment as second Executive Director of Temasek Holdings Pte Ltd which took effect from 1 July 2006
Mr Lim Neo Chian Mr Lim was appointed the Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive of the STB in October 2002. He is an active Board Member of Sentosa Development Corporation, Urban Redevelopment Authority, National Arts Council and the Esplanade Co. Limited, and was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Gold) in 2003 for steering the STB and tourism industry through the SARS crisis.
Mr Scott Blume Mr Blume is the CEO of ZUJI Pte. Ltd. ZUJI, an online travel company which has offices in six countries across the Asia Pacific region, including Singapore. Prior to joining ZUJI, Mr Blume was CEO and Executive Director of Australian-listed ITG Limited (formerly known as Internet Travel Group). Mr Blume’s extensive experience in the travel industry will enable the STB to be better placed to seize new opportunities and develop initiatives relating to technology in the tourism industry.
Ms Chong Siak Ching Ms Chong is the President and CEO of Ascendas Pte. Ltd., Asia's leading business space provider. Ms Chong currently serves on the APEC Business Advisory Council. Her knowledge of the regional real estate market will be invaluable as the STB embarks on more infrastructure projects in the coming years.
Mr Aubeck Kam Mr Kam currently holds the position of Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Manpower (MOM). He has previously held senior government positions in trade and security. As Director of Trade in the Ministry of Trade & Industry (MTI), he was involved in negotiations of free trade agreements with China, India and Canada. He served as the Director of Operations for the Singapore Police Force, holding the rank of Senior Assistant Commissioner. Mr Kam is also a Board Member in the Central Provident Fund Board and the Singapore Examinations Assessment Board.
Mr Anthony Davis Mr Davis is the President and CEO of Tiger Airways. Since his appointment with Tiger Airways in 2005, the airline has expanded to 13 destinations in seven countries. He was formerly the founding Managing Director of bmibaby, the successful British low cost carrier. Mr Davis has over 20 years experience in the airline industry formulating and implementing international airline strategies and representing airlines in negotiations with government and regulatory agencies globally.
Mr Philip Jeyaretnam Mr Philip Jeyaretnam is a commercial litigator and international arbitration practitioner. A Senior Counsel, Mr Jeyaretnam heads the construction law practice of the law firm of Rodyk & Davidson. He was President of the Law Society from 2004 to 2007. He is also the Immediate Past Chairman of the Society of Construction Law. Mr Jeyaretnam's depth of legal experience will be a great asset to the STB Board.
Mdm Kay Kuok Oon Kwong Mdm Kuok is currently the Executive Chairman, Shangri-La Hotel Singapore Limited, a post she has held since 2000. She also holds directorships with Kuok (Singapore) Ltd, Kuok Brothers Sdn Bhd and Allgreen Properties Ltd. In addition, Mdm Kuok is Co-Chairperson of the Tourism Consultative Council, President, of the Singapore Hotel Association, Councillor and Chairperson of the Arts & Culture Functional Committee with the South West CDC and a Member of the National Youth Achievement Award and NTU Business Degree Programmes Advisory Boards.
Mr. Benson Puah is currently the Chief Executive Officer of The Esplanade Co Ltd and is responsible for its overall development, management, programming and artistic direction. He chairs the New York-based International Society for the Performing Arts and is the first Asian to hold this appointment. He also chairs the Association of Asia Pacific Performing Arts Centres. Prior to Esplanade, Mr. Puah was Chief Executive of Sentosa Development Corporation and Chief Executive Officer of Temasia Health Pte Ltd. Mr Puah also brings with him over 20 years of experience in pioneering hospitality projects from his international career in the hospitality industry with leading luxury hotel companies in US, Europe and Asia.
Mr Steven Lim Mr Lim is currently an audit committee member of A*STAR (Agency for Science Technology & Research) and a board member of several public listed companies in Singapore. With more than 32 years of audit experience, Mr Lim was formerly a Managing Partner of Arthur Andersen Singapore till July 2002 and then a Senior Partner with Ernst & Young before retiring June 2003. Mr Lim has extensive regional business experience in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam.
Mr Tang Tuck Weng Mr Tang is currently Director (Housing) with the Ministry of National Development. He was formerly Director (Planning) at the Ministry of Education from 2002 to 2006, and Director (Sea, Air and Telecoms) at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology from1999 to 2001. Prior to his appointment as an STB Board member, he also sat on the boards of the National Heritage Board, the Singapore Discovery Centre, Nanyang Polytechnic and the Public Transport Council.
Mr Patrick Pitcher Mr Pitcher recently retired from his position as CEO JWT Asia Pacific South where he presided over 20 offices in 11 countries for three years. Prior to that Mr Pitcher was CEO Asia Pacific and on the Worldwide Executive Board of Saatchi and Saatchi. During his 11 years in the Asia Pacific region he has gained in-depth knowledge of the various markets including China, India, Japan, S E Asia and Australia. Before he became CEO for Saatchi & Saatchi Canada and MD of South Africa, he worked for Johnson & Johnson and Unilever. Mr Pitcher has garnered extensive global marketing and branding experience after having worked with many of the world's top advertisers.
